What Should We Write About?

When selecting a topic to write about there are 5 main categories that can and will help you in your search for the perfect subject to put your mind to. Doing some preliminary research, talking to people, making lists, free writing, and making mind maps. Each guides you to a more refined sense of what you would like to write about.

After reading this I took away some new points of views to planning what I would like to write about and how to reach the core of a generalized topic that is first thought of when you initially begin brainstorming.

Personally i don't believe there is a "best" way to choose a topic. I believe if you initially begin with a broad idea you can narrow it down bit by bit through research and opinions to eventually find the topic you would like to write about.
